My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Sets January 5 Premiere in New Trailer

The world of My Hero Academia is expanding again. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, the hit prequel anime following off-the-books heroes on the streets of Naruhata, is officially back for Season 2 on January 5, 2026, streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide (excluding Asia, with the exception of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia).

The announcement arrived with new key art and a fresh trailer that teases incoming characters and a higher-stakes continuation of Koichi Haimawari’s story. Set several years before the main My Hero Academia timeline, the series follows Koichi, an ordinary college student whose modest Quirk and strong sense of justice pull him into an underground vigilante crew alongside the acrobatic Pop☆Step and the hard-edged Knuckleduster.

New Music, Familiar Team

Season 2 also brings in new music to soundtrack Koichi’s next chapter. Rock band THREEE will perform the opening theme, “CATCH!!!,” while shytaupe is on board for the ending theme, “Miss you,” both previewed in the latest trailer.

Behind the scenes, Vigilantes keeps a stacked creative pedigree. The anime is based on the manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, set in the same universe as Kohei Horikoshi’s original series. Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Cells at Work!) returns to direct, with longtime My Hero Academia writer Yosuke Kuroda handling series composition and scripts. Animation is once again produced by Bones Film, a division of the studio behind the mainline My Hero Academia anime.

Key staff includes character designer Takahiko Yoshida, art director Yukihiro Watanabe, color designer Haruko Nobori, and director of photography Eiei Cho. Yuki Hayashi, Shogo Yamashiro, and Yuki Furuhashi provide the score, with sound direction from Masafumi Mima.

On the character side, the new season will continue to spotlight Koichi (The Crawler), Pop☆Step, and Knuckleduster, while weaving in fan-favorite pros like Fatgum, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, All Might, and Eraserhead, further tightening the links between the prequel and the main series.

With Season 1 already available to stream on Crunchyroll, fans have time to catch up on Koichi’s origin story before Season 2 lands in January. And while My Hero Academia’s Final Season brings the core anime to a close, Vigilantes is already lining up the next chapter of hero work in the shadows.
