Chorus of Sin Brings Dead by Daylight’s Community-Created Killer to The Fog

Dead by Daylight has officially welcomed Chorus of Sin, the game’s first Chapter created in collaboration with its community.

Released August 25, the new addition brings two original characters into The Fog: The Judgment, a celestial Killer driven by divine punishment, and Survivor Aurora Stardotter. Their arrival follows more than a year of player involvement through The Grimoire, where the Dead by Daylight community helped shape elements of the Chapter through a series of votes covering its lore, visuals, gameplay, and music.

That process ultimately led to one of the game’s more unusual horror concepts. Chorus of Sin takes players to the ruined world of Terra Primus, where humanity’s pursuit of godhood draws the attention of The Judgment and leaves civilization devastated. Aurora becomes one of the people trying to rebuild in its aftermath, guiding survivors through the destruction before setting out to seek The Judgment herself.

The Judgment Brings Exile to the Trials

The Judgment enters Trials with Divine Light, a power that lets the Killer call down a pillar of light capable of damaging Survivors and afflicting them with Heresy. Once affected, Survivors face an added complication while repairing Generators. Heresy introduces special Skill Checks, and failing to hit the Great Skill Check zone results in additional regression.

The Killer can take that punishment even further through Exile. After a Heretic Survivor is downed, The Judgment can banish them to a separate realm where they must navigate around Seeds of Punishment. During that time, The Judgment becomes Zealous, strengthening Divine Light until the exiled Survivor escapes.

Survivors do have ways to fight back. Shrines of Judgment appear throughout the Trial and can be used to cleanse Heresy or help free someone who has been sent into Exile.

The Judgment also arrives with three new perks. Celestial Witness can expose the aura of a distant Obsession, Hex: Under Your Thumb interferes with Haste after Survivors reach their first Hook state, and Lay Waste increases Generator regression depending on how much progress has already been made.

Aurora Stardotter Offers New Support Options

Aurora’s three perks are geared more heavily toward helping a team stay productive and recover during a Trial.

Boon: Steadfast slows Generator regression and improves repair speed within the Boon’s range. Fruits of Your Labor awards tokens as Generators are completed, eventually providing healing advantages and a short burst of Haste.

Salvation’s Cry is particularly useful during a chase. When activated, Aurora and the Killer are briefly revealed to the other Survivors, while Aurora is also able to see where her teammates are positioned.

The launch is also accompanied by the Chorus of Sin Collection, which includes The Judgment’s gold-winged Vanguard of the Creators Outfit and Aurora’s Bringer of Shadow Outfit. Players who purchase the Chapter receive the exclusive Peridot Incarnation cosmetic for The Judgment and Fate’s Chosen for Aurora as well.

Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin is available now, with the Chapter priced at $7.99.
