Star Wars: Galactic Racer Story Trailer Brings Rivalries to the Outer Rim
The galaxy far, far away is getting a new kind of high-speed underdog story. Lucasfilm Games and Fuse Games revealed a new story trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer during Summer Game Fest, offering a closer look at the upcoming racing adventure’s campaign, rivalries, and dangerous place in the Outer Rim’s underground racing scene. Here’s everything you need to know.
A Racing Adventure Built Around Risk and Reputation
The trailer centers on Shade, an up-and-coming racer whose run through the Galactic League is driven by both revenge and ambition. His biggest obstacle is Kestar Bool, the League Champion, whose influence reaches far beyond the track. For Shade, entering the circuit also means a chance to take on the Bool family directly and challenge the corruption behind its hold on the League.
That personal rivalry gives Star Wars: Galactic Racer a sharper edge than a standard racing setup. The game imagines the Galactic League as a dangerous, unsanctioned circuit born in the lawless Outer Rim, where syndicates sponsor pilots, fortunes can disappear in seconds, and reputation carries almost as much weight as speed.
The new trailer also offers a broader look at how players will move through that world. It highlights the game’s single-player mode, the newly revealed Derven Acos arena, paddock areas where racers gather between events, and multiplayer podracing action beyond the Mos Espa Circuit. Shade will also have help from Hibi, an Ardennian mechanic who operates out of each planet’s paddock and helps players fit new parts earned through races or purchased to support different racing styles.
Galactic Racer will feature multiple modes, including Campaign, Scenario, and Arcade. The solo campaign is built around player choice, with different events, unlocks, and challenges available during each tour. Crashing too many times can end a run, though certain perks and unlocks will carry over, giving players another chance to rebuild, re-enter the circuit, and work their way back toward Kestar Bool. The game also leans into the broader fantasy of Star Wars racing, letting players pilot landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and podracers across planets including Jakku, Tatooine, Ando Prime, Lantaana, and Sentinel I.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is set to launch worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 6, 2026.
