Rick and Morty Is Coming Back Soon, and the New Season 9 Trailer Looks as Unhinged as Ever

Rick and Morty is officially back on the calendar. Adult Swim has confirmed that Season 9 will premiere on May 24 at 11 p.m. ET/PT, and the newly released official trailer has already kicked the rollout into a louder gear.

The new footage also looks exactly like the kind of return longtime viewers would expect, only pushed a little further into chaos. The trailer races through aliens, explosions, bizarre creatures, and the usual family-wide damage, all with the show’s familiar mix of sci-fi nonsense and emotional instability still intact.

Adult Swim first announced the May premiere window back in March, with Warner Bros. Discovery also confirming that the season will arrive on U.S. streaming later in the summer. Now, with the official trailer out, the return feels much closer.

There is also some continuity here behind the scenes. Season 9 marks the third season with Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden voicing Rick and Morty, alongside returning cast members Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, and Spencer Grammer. At this point, the question is less about whether the show can still generate noise and more about what kind of mayhem it wants to cook up next.
