It’s been confirmed that the series, led by Jack Quaid as Clark Kent/Superman, is officially set to return Saturday, June 13 at midnight ET/PT as part of Adult Swim’s Toonami anime/action block, with episodes available the next day on HBO Max. And, after two seasons spent watching Clark grow into the hero audiences know, Season 3 begins with him in a very different place. Clark has embraced his Kryptonian roots, made peace with who he is, and seems ready to think seriously about the future.

Of course, this is still My Adventures With Superman, which means nothing stays simple for long. Lois, who has finally become the Daily Planet’s star reporter, is not exactly on the same page when it comes to slowing down. Jimmy, meanwhile, has gone from freelance photographer to celebrity journalist after the events of last season, but he has his own complications ahead, especially with Kara Zor-El trying to find her place on Earth and showing romantic interest in him.

The new trailer continues to explore what the show has always done well: balancing action, comedy, romance, and heartfelt character work without losing its sense of fun. Naturally, the season brings major new threats into the mix too, with powerful enemies set to challenge Superman, threaten the future, and test the found-family bond between Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara.

There are also clear signs that Season 3 will be pulling from some major Superman mythology. We already know that the season will integrate the “Reign of the Supermen” storyline (as previewed in the season’s key art), with Cyborg Superman, Superboy, and Steel all part of the conversation in some form. That gives the new season plenty of room to explore what Superman means, not just as a person, but as an idea others can expand, twist, copy, or even challenge.

Now, with its June premiere approaching, My Adventures with Superman Season 3 looks like a confident return for one of DC’s most charming animated titles, bringing bigger stakes without losing the warmth that made the series stand out in the first place.
