Marvel and WEBTOON Are Launching a New Digital Comics App
Marvel is preparing to overhaul the way readers access its digital comics library through a new partnership with WEBTOON Entertainment. Announced ahead of New York Comic Con 2026, Marvel Comics powered by WEBTOON will officially launch on November 16 with more than 35,000 digital comics and a new two-tier subscription model.
Built for both mobile and web, the service will bring together decades of Marvel releases alongside comics from Star Wars and 20th Century Studios, with additional stories from across Disney’s portfolio expected in the future. Readers will be able to move between traditional page-by-page reading and vertical scrolling, while updated discovery features will make it easier to follow specific series, characters, and creators. A Pull List and upcoming-release section are also among the features planned for launch.
New Marvel Comics Could Arrive Much Faster
One of the most significant changes is how quickly newer comics will become available. The Base subscription, priced at $9.99 per month or $69.99 annually, will add issues three months after their print release. An Ultimate tier at $12.49 per month or $99.99 annually shortens that window considerably, giving subscribers access to new Marvel issues as soon as 30 days after they reach comic shops. A limited Founding Member offer also brings the first year of Ultimate down to $59.99, giving early subscribers access to the larger release window at a reduced introductory price.
Marvel Unlimited Is Coming to an End
The launch also signals the end of Marvel Unlimited, which has served as Marvel’s primary digital subscription service for nearly two decades. Existing users will be able to transfer their libraries, reading progress, redeemed comics, and saved issues to the WEBTOON-powered app after creating a WEBTOON account.
Comic reading and new additions through Marvel Unlimited will end December 7, while users will have until December 21 to review their libraries before the app is fully removed on December 28.
Fans attending New York Comic Con from October 8–11 will get an early look at the new platform at booth #2435, where Marvel and WEBTOON will showcase a beta version ahead of its November rollout. For longtime digital readers, the transition brings a major platform change, while the shorter release window offered through Ultimate could make Marvel’s newest comics considerably easier to follow without waiting months after their print debut.
