AMC’s The Vampire Lestat Ushers in Lestat’s Rockstar Era
AMC has released the official trailer for The Vampire Lestat, the highly anticipated third season of its Anne Rice vampire drama and a major new chapter in the network’s Immortal Universe. Previously known as Interview with the Vampire Season 3, the season has now been rebranded as The Vampire Lestat, taking its title from Anne Rice’s second novel in The Vampire Chronicles. So, what do you need to know going into this one? Let’s dive into it.
The Story So Far
The first two seasons centered largely on Louis de Pointe du Lac, played by Jacob Anderson, as he recounted his life, his love, and his volatile bond with Lestat de Lioncourt. This new chapter shifts the spotlight toward Lestat himself, with Sam Reid returning as the theatrical vampire who now wants to tell his own version of the story.
The trailer for this new season introduces Lestat as the world’s first immortal rock star, sending him on an electric multi-city tour filled with stage lights, screaming fans, and his own rendition of Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself.” It is a bold pivot in energy, trading the interview-room tension of earlier seasons for something louder, glossier, and more chaotic while still holding onto the emotional intensity that has defined the series.
This season also widens the mythology around him. As Lestat’s fame grows, so does his influence over both vampires and humans, forcing those around him to reckon with his power during the Great Conversion, described as an unnatural surge in the vampire population. The result points toward a season built around spectacle, ego, memory, and naturally, consequence.
Cast and Creative Team
Sam Reid returns as Lestat de Lioncourt, with Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Assad Zaman as Armand, and Eric Bogosian as journalist Daniel Molloy. The cast also includes Delainey Hayles and Jennifer Ehle. Rolin Jones continues as creator and showrunner, with executive producers including Mark Johnson, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
The trailer’s fast-paced visuals and rock-infused energy signal a bolder, more theatrical tone for the series. With Lestat fully embracing the spotlight, The Vampire Lestat looks ready to deliver blood-soaked spectacle, emotional reckoning, and a new version of immortality built for the stage.
Fans of the books and the series alike can expect the Brat Prince to finally take control of the story when The Vampire Lestat premieres June 7 on AMC and AMC+.
