The Strangers – Chapter 3 Sets Up the Endgame in New Trailer

Lionsgate has released the official trailer for The Strangers – Chapter 3, positioning the February 6, 2026, release as the closing act of Renny Harlin’s three-film slasher relaunch. And if you haven’t seen the others yet, consider this your official spoiler warning for Chapters 1 and 2.

The Strangers — Chapter 3 | Lionsgate

If you’ve followed the reboot so far, the setup is brutally simple: Maya (Madelaine Petsch) and her boyfriend Ryan get stranded in the Oregon town of Venus and are hunted through the night by the franchise’s trio of masked attackers. Chapter 1 ends with Maya alive (RIP Ryan), but the danger is clearly not contained.

Chapter 2 quickly escalates from there, shifting the pursuit into (and out of) the local hospital and back into the woods, with Maya repeatedly trying to find help as the violence expands to anyone unlucky enough to cross the Strangers’ path. By the end of the sequel, the trilogy has narrowed into a two-killer chase with Maya still on the run.

The new trailer for The Strangers – Chapter 3 teases a full-circle finale, with a battered Maya appearing closer to the killers than ever, including flashes that put her behind the Pin-Up Girl mask, a provocation the film frames as survival, strategy, or something darker. Returning cast for the final chapter includes Petsch alongside Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath, with Richard Brake also listed among the principal players.

Up to this point, reactions to the first two entries have been split. On Rotten Tomatoes, Chapter 1 sits at 21% (critics) and 45% (audience), while Chapter 2 drops to 15% with a higher 54% audience score—suggesting the sequel connected more with viewers even as critics remained unconvinced. And while mileage will vary, we found The Strangers – Chapter 2 to be the stronger entry so far, mostly because it finally starts moving forward instead of echoing the most familiar beats from the iconic 2008 film that sparked the revamp.

That shift is what makes The Strangers – Chapter 3 feel like the real test. The finale looks primed to carry that momentum into a more consequential endgame for Maya—one that plays like escalation, not repetition. If it lands, it won’t just cap the story; it could retroactively justify the trilogy’s split-into-three gamble.
