Longlegs Trailer Teases Maika Monroe’s ‘Scream Queen’ Brilliance
If you haven’t realized by now, we love a good horror movie, and Neon's latest psychological horror flick, Longlegs, has us fully invested in its upcoming release with its chilling new trailer.
Longlegs | NEONStarring Maika Monroe as FBI agent Lee Harker, the movie delves into a cold case involving a mysterious serial killer portrayed by veteran actor Nicolas Cage. However, not too long after Harker begins to delve deeper into her work, she realizes that there are heavy elements of the occult that come to light during the investigation.
Despite not revealing Cage's face, the trailer builds tension as his haunting voice echoes through the scenes, terrorizing Harker at every turn of the supernatural-ish twinged mystery. Additionally, Monroe, (known for her work in the horror genre through stellar genre hits like Watcher and It Follows), officially cements her position as a modern "scream queen" with her new role in Longlegs, teasing what could be her eeriest project to date.
Longlegs is both written and directed by Osgood Perkins, (the son of renowned actor Anthony Perkins), and is produced by a reputable team that includes Cage, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Chris Ferguson.
