Searchlight Pictures Reveals the Cast for Ready or Not: Here I Come
The sequel to the 2019 horror-comedy Ready or Not, titled Ready or Not: Here I Come, is in production, and recent casting announcements have added plenty of hype to the highly anticipated project.
As of now, we know that Samara Weaving is slated to return as Grace, the bride who survived a deadly game of hide-and-seek in the original film. Her performance as the determined Grace was a highlight for many, and her presence provides much-needed continuity for the sequel. Kathryn Newton, previously confirmed, also joins the cast with her experience from horror films like Abigail, Paranormal Activity 4, and Freaky, making her a strong addition to the franchise’s intense, playful tone.
Though the most exciting reveal to date includes news that Sarah Michelle Gellar, known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, marks her official return to horror, bringing her genre expertise to a project with several scream queens worth celebrating. Elijah Wood, recognized for Lord of the Rings and horror roles in Maniac, was another recent addition to the ensemble lineup along with David Cronenberg, a filmmaker with acting credits in Star Trek: Discovery. The cast is also said to include Shawn Hatosy (The Faculty), Néstor Carbonell (Ringer), and Kevin Durand (Abigail), each contributing their familiarity with genre storytelling.
Plot details remain undisclosed, but Searchlight Pictures’ Matthew Greenfield previously described the sequel as a “fresh take that’s as twisted and fun as the first one.” The creative team, including writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, is back to maintain the original’s sharp humor and social commentary. With production underway and this diverse cast in place, Ready or Not: Here I Come is officially a sequel we’re extremely excited about.
