Set as a standalone side story following the events of Season 3, the film sends Rimuru and his companions to a private resort island after the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest. What begins as a brief getaway soon shifts into something more dangerous when a mysterious woman named Yura appears, setting off a new incident against the backdrop of the open sea.

Even as the story steps away from the central series for a self-contained adventure, it still looks poised to deliver the same blend of character-driven stakes and expansive world-building that has kept That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime a major title in the genre.

The film is directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Toshizo Nemoto. Fuse is credited with the original creator and story concept, while animation production is handled by Eightbit. The movie runs 104 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some violence and suggestive material. It will also be available in Japanese with English subtitles as well as an English dub.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will bring the film to theaters in the United States and Canada beginning May 1, 2026, with tickets already on sale now.
