Ingrid Joins Street Fighter 6 on May 28 as Year 3 Comes to a Close
Capcom is bringing one of its more mysterious fighters back into the spotlight—as it’s now confirmed that Ingrid will join Street Fighter 6 on May 28, rounding out the game’s Year 3 character lineup across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. And the reality-warping character arrives as the fourth and final addition to the current season, following Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex. Her return also marks another long-awaited appearance for a fighter whose history with Capcom stretches back to Capcom Fighting Evolution in 2004 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX in 2006.
A Power Set Built Around Sun Energy and Control
Ingrid’s latest gameplay trailer teases the celestial side of her fighting style, introducing a move set centered on Sun Crests, which can be stocked up to four times to strengthen attacks with extra hits, range, and follow-up options. From there, her kit expands into a mix of zoning, pressure, and movement tools designed to keep opponents guessing.
That includes Sun Shot, a projectile that changes angle or speed depending on the input, and Sun Flare, a beam attack that can either spend or build Sun Crests depending on the version used. Solar Burst extends that concept into the air, while Sun Rise gives Ingrid a spinning attack with several variations that can feed into bigger combos.
Ingrid also comes equipped with defensive and evasive tools. Sun Veil functions as a counter that can absorb incoming attacks and knock an opponent down, though it does not stop Super Arts or multi-hit attacks. Vanishing Sun adds another layer of unpredictability through a short-range teleport that can shift Ingrid into different positions. Her Super Arts push that spectacle further. Shining Sun serves as her Level 1, Order of the Sun calls down a rain of solar energy as her Level 2, and Cosmic Ray unleashes a powerful screen-reaching beam as her Level 3.
Players who own or purchase the Year 3 Character Pass or Year 3 Ultimate Pass will be able to unlock Ingrid on launch day. She will arrive with two looks: a new Outfit 1 tied to her dimension-crossing return, and Outfit 2, which brings back her classic purple school uniform. Capcom also confirmed that Outfit 3 for Ingrid, Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex will launch at the same time, closing out Year 3 with a full set of new cosmetics.
