Marvel Gives Red Hulk His Own Comic Run in 2025

Marvel Comics has announced an exciting new addition to its lineup: a solo series featuring the formidable Red Hulk, set to launch in February 2025. The series, titled Red Hulk: One World Under Doom, will be written by Benjamin Percy and illustrated by Geoff Shaw. This new saga is part of the larger "One World Under Doom" event, which promises to shake up the Marvel Universe.

The story kicks off with Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, the man behind the Red Hulk persona, being imprisoned by Doctor Doom in Latveria. Doom plans to exploit Ross's military expertise for his own sinister purposes. However, Ross's only hope for escape lies in unleashing the full power of Red Hulk and leading an assault on Doom's kingdom from within.

Percy, known for his work on the "Sabretooth War" storyline in Wolverine, expressed his excitement about diving into the world of Red Hulk. "When I learned about the One World Under Doom event, my mind immediately went to Thunderbolt Ross," Percy said in a statement from Marvel. "A global takeover would not be tolerated by a man who bleeds red, white, and blue (but especially red). His experience as a soldier and strategist makes him a prime target for Doom."

Geoff Shaw, who previously collaborated with Percy on the Wolverine/Ghost Rider crossover, will bring his dynamic art style to the series. "Hulk has always been my favorite Marvel character, so to play in this gamma-irradiated sandbox has been a dream come true," Shaw added. "Add Doctor Doom to the mix, and it's an embarrassment of riches."

The series will feature a variety of variant covers by top artists, including Adam Kubert, Todd Nauck, and John Romita Jr. Fans can also look forward to a special prelude story in Incredible Hulk #19, the milestone 800th issue of the series.

Red Hulk: One World Under Doom is set to hit comic shops on February 26, 2025, just in time for the character's highly anticipated debut in Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World. With unavoidable intense action, intriguing plot twists, and appearances by characters like Machine Man and Deathlok, this new series promises to be a thrilling addition to the Marvel world.
