Jason Voorhees Is Finally Coming to Dead by Daylight

One of horror’s most requested crossovers is finally happening: Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight. Behaviour Interactive revealed the Friday the 13th icon through an official trailer, confirming Dead by Daylight will add the character next month, bringing the hockey-masked slasher into The Fog as part of the game’s 10th anniversary celebration. And, for a game built around horror’s biggest monsters, Jason’s arrival feels overdue in the best way.

What Jason Can Do In The Fog

Jason will arrive with two major powers: Omnipresent Evil and Improvised Carnage. Omnipresent Evil leans into Jason’s almost supernatural ability to appear when victims least expect him. In gameplay terms, it allows him to vanish from the map, move faster, track Survivors through visual cues, and reappear through environmental points like pallets, vaults and breakable walls.

Improvised Carnage taps into Jason’s brutal creativity. Around the map, he can grab makeshift projectiles such as broken generator pieces, locker fragments, shattered pallets and hooks, then throw them at Survivors. A successful hit can stagger a Survivor, while an injured Survivor near a wall can be pinned in place. Alongside his arrival, Jason will also launch with themed cosmetics. Reported outfits include Backwoods Terror, Death Forsaken and Depths of Despair, giving players a few different ways to bring the slasher’s legacy into the game.

When Jason Joins the fog

Jason will be available first through the Steam public test build on May 26 before officially launching in Dead by Daylight on June 16, 2026. Given his status as a genre icon, his long history of stalking doomed groups, and his talent for pure slasher chaos, he already feels like a thrilling addition to the game’s killer roster.
