Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Officially Announced for 2027

Bandai Namco has officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, bringing one of the franchise’s most enduring game series back into the spotlight with a 2027 release planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Here’s what we know so far.

A New Era for Xenoverse

The announcement places Xenoverse 3 in “Age 1000,” a future-era Dragon Ball setting centered on West City and populated by original characters created by Akira Toriyama. Bandai Namco is presenting the game as a completely new Dragon Ball experience shaped by player choice, while PlayStation’s reveal names the Great Saiyan Squad as the player’s entry point into the story. No detailed gameplay was shown in the first trailer, but the early visuals already suggest a sequel with a much wider scope.

The Series Already Built Its Own Lane

That new spin on the franchise’s direction stands out even more because the first two Xenoverse games established such a distinct format. The original 2015 title made its mark by letting players create their own avatar and step into altered Dragon Ball battles alongside Trunks, with Toki Toki City acting as the central hub for a story focused on restoring history.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, released in 2016, expanded that formula with Conton City, deeper customization, and a larger online structure that helped keep the game active for years. Bandai Namco reinforced that longevity during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, where it also announced Future Saga: Chapter 4 as the final DLC for Xenoverse 2.

For now, the reveal offers a solid first look at where the series is headed next. Bandai Namco has not shared everything yet, but the initial announcement already outlines a new setting, a new structure, and a fresh perspective that expands Xenoverse’s place within the broader Dragon Ball legacy.
