Shannon Beador is Already the MVP of RHOC Season 18

When Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Storms Beador initially entered a deadly sea of blondes (during the ninth season of the popular Bravo series) she quickly emerged as a standout personality who’s repeatedly proven herself as a franchise staple. And fortunately for fellow Storms chasers, the drama-heavy 18th season of RHOC has already made it even clearer that the iconic reality TV legend is still capable of carrying the flagship Real Housewives series. How so?

Vulnerability is Key

While Shannon has typically been open and honest about her life on-camera, this new season has presented complex personal circumstances that she’s been extremely direct about. Even if it might not have been the easiest topics to address. For example, Shannon’s choice to be direct about the events leading up to her arrest, or even about her tense struggles with her former boyfriend generally earned viewers respect by bravely sharing her personal struggles with transparency and vulnerability. No excuses, no false narratives — strictly open conversations.

As a result, her willingness to address these challenging topics head-on (regardless of how others can be quick to cast judgment) has ultimately resonated with fans who understand that being open about the highs and lows is a massive factor in the longevity of a reality television franchise.

A Renewed Sense of Confidence

After going through a tumultuous time in her personal life, including a high-profile breakup, Shannon has also returned to the show with a renewed sense of self and purpose. Embracing her newfound single status, she has rediscovered her confidence and charisma that’s been repeatedly stifled by unhealthy romantic relationships — giving her the chance to naturally charm audiences with her infectious energy and unwavering resilience. Because when Shannon isn’t being told how to react or feel, she tends to win audiences over organically.

Furthermore, you literally can’t help but root for her to thrive, because this current single Shannon feels like the strongest version we’ve seen so far. Plus, there’s also the fact that she walked into the season giving us old Hollywood glam at its finest.

Against All Odds

In the first two episodes of the new season, Shannon has already proven to be a captivating presence on screen, even when up against a group that obviously smells blood in the water. However, as time has shown, it’s essentially impossible to overthrow the reigning RHOC Queen despite any cast alliances or pre-conceived weaknesses, which is something only a select few are capable of (like Teresa and Luann).

As of now, she’s clocked Alexis (who really set herself up for that one) along with the intentions of several cast members, showing us that she’s extremely aware of her surroundings. So with that in mind, how can we not root for Shannon’s Real Housewives glow-up?

RHOC airs on Thursdays on Bravo and can be streamed via Peacock the following day.
