Peacock Unveils Trailer, Key Art, and New Images for Upcoming Crime Drama M.I.A. Ahead of May Premiere

Peacock has officially released the trailer, key art, and a fresh batch of images for its upcoming original drama series M.I.A., offering a first real look at the platform’s new crime saga before it premieres next month.

Set against the vibrant but dangerous backdrop of South Florida, M.I.A. centers on Etta Tiger Jonze, a young woman who feels increasingly trapped in the Florida Keys while dreaming of something bigger in Miami’s glittering, sun-soaked world. That dream takes a darker turn when her family’s drug-running operation is torn apart by tragedy, sending Etta into Miami’s neon-lit underworld on a journey that will test her instincts, ambition, and sense of self.

The series comes from creator, executive producer, and writer Bill Dubuque, with Karen Campbell serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Peacock’s newly released materials suggest a series rooted in crime and family fallout, while also leaning into the visual contrast between the allure of Miami and the violence hiding underneath its polished surface.

Leading the cast is Shannon Gisela, alongside a lineup that includes Cary Elwes, Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. The directing team includes Alethea Jones, who also executive produces and directs the first two episodes, with additional episodes helmed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Marizee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl.

M.I.A. will debut as a nine-episode crime drama, with each episode running approximately 60 minutes. All episodes will be available to stream on premiere day, giving the series a binge-style launch on Peacock. The show is produced by MRC, with Paramount Global Content Distribution handling distribution.

With its first trailer now out, M.I.A. is shaping up as a stylish, high-stakes crime drama built around family ties, survival, and the seductive pull of reinvention. M.I.A. premieres May 7, 2026, only on Peacock.
