Movies We’d Like to See Spoofed in the Next Installment of ‘Scary Movie’

After years of anticipation, it has been officially confirmed that the Wayans brothers will be returning to helm the next installment of the Scary Movie franchise. Having departed the series after the second film, fans are understandably thrilled about the game-changing spoof franchise receiving a proper modern revival. With that in mind, here are a few films and franchises that would be exciting to explore in Scary Movie 6.

Scream

Now that we’ve lucked out by getting the Wayans Brothers back, we’re also hoping to witness the return of Cindy Campbell, played by Anna Faris — originally spoofing Sidney Prescott from Scream. And since then, the influential horror franchise has also been revived. A possible return to the franchise's roots with its Cindy-centric tale could offer a delightful blend of nostalgia and humor. And while we’re discussing the idea, why not incorporate the added twist of encountering Bobby's lovechild (reminiscent of Billy in Scream 2022) to create chaos and laughs in classic Scary Movie fashion?

The X Trilogy

We really hope to see a hilarious homage to Ti West's X trilogy, with Faris recreating some of the most memorable moments from Pearl. Because you just know it would entail an off-the-rail monologue and perhaps even her infamous dance sequence. Of course, we can’t forget about Brenda (played by Regina Hall) who would have way too much fun living her best Maxine Minx life!

Longlegs

Longlegs has become a quirky yet serious serial killer film, making it a perfect target for the Wayans brothers' satire. The film’s eccentric characters and eerie atmosphere provide ample material for hilarious scenes (like Faris tapping into her character’s horrible intuition). Basically, we’d be extremely eager to see how Scary Movie exaggerates the traits that make Longlegs both unsettling and oddly effective.

Sadako vs. Kayako

A modern rematch between the creepy characters from The Grudge and The Ring would be a dream come true. Given that Faris and Hall have previously faced off against these iconic soaking-wet ghost girls individually (Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4), a showdown featuring both could be a side-splitting mix of horror and hilarity. At the very least, we’re hoping to see the Wayans brothers bring these characters back for an unforgettable battle because Brenda really deserves to get her lick back after Sadako’s cheap shots!

The Conjuring Universe

Parodying The Conjuring Universe would be a hilarious (and mainstream) addition to the new Scary Movie. Whether it’s via Annabelle, the Warrens, or any other aspect of this supernatural world, the Wayans brothers are sure to deliver laughs. Their unique take on supernatural horror, combined with their knack for comedic timing, would make for an unforgettable spoof of one of today’s most popular horror franchises. Plus, after Scary Movie 2 we’re dying for more ghosts to really push these iconic characters to their limits — iykyk.
