What we know about the plot, timeline, and cast

The Mandalorian and Grogu unfolds after the events of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, following Din Djarin and Grogu as they move through a post-Empire galaxy still dealing with the remnants of Imperial power. The story also appears to pull them into a mission tied to Rotta the Hutt, now grown and played by Jeremy Allen White, giving the film a larger underworld thread alongside its New Republic stakes.

Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, with Grogu once again at the heart of the story. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne, while Jon Favreau directs and co-wrote the film with Dave Filoni, continuing the creative partnership that helped define this corner of Star Wars from the start.

With its May release now locked in and the film promising a bigger, more cinematic adventure for Star Wars’ favorite duo, The Mandalorian and Grogu is organically shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most anticipated theatrical releases in years.
