Evil Dead Burn Teases a Brutal New Nightmare at CinemaCon

After debuting footage at CinemaCon, Evil Dead Burn, the next film in the Evil Dead franchise, has started gaining a reputation as a vicious, family-centered bloodbath. The movie has also shifted its release date up, which means audiences will be getting its latest round of Deadite chaos a little earlier than expected. Here’s what you need to know.

CinemaCon footage Sets Up a GRUESOME Entry

The early teaser makes it very clear that Evil Dead Burn is not planning to play things safe. The CinemaCon trailer is packed with the kind of stomach-turning set pieces this franchise thrives on, including fingers severed in a car door, a body going face-first into a dishwasher full of knives, and a woman with a car-seat headrest lodged through her face. And as expected, there also seems to be a strong survival-horror streak running through the film from Infested director Sébastien Vaniček.

grief, isolation, and a very bad family reunion

Official plot details are still being kept under wraps, but the footage and official details so far suggest that Evil Dead Burn follows a woman mourning her husband who heads to her in-laws’ remote home for comfort. From there, the setup turns into something much uglier as family members are transformed into Deadites one by one, pushing the reunion into nightmare territory.

If that’s all true for the duration of the film, this one may trade Evil Dead Rise’s cramped urban pressure for something more intimate and emotionally loaded. That tone also lines up with what Vaniček has said about the film. According to previous comments, he wanted to make “a nasty film” that leaves audiences feeling tested, which feels very on-brand for a franchise that has never had much interest in restraint.

Who’s in the cast and when does it COME out?

The core cast includes Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, and George Pullar. Initial reporting previously confirmed Yacoub as the film’s lead, with Doohan, Buchanan, and Wright joining the project soon after. Evil Dead Burn is now set to open in theaters on July 10, 2026.

The first teaser is also currently playing only in theaters, attached to screenings of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, so the full look at the film has not officially hit online yet. But at this point, it’s only a matter of time…
