Everything We Know About NEON’s Leviticus So Far
NEON has another closely watched genre title on the way with Leviticus, a Sundance Midnight selection that has been building momentum ahead of its June theatrical release. And rather than arriving as just another festival horror pickup, the film has already begun to stand out as one of the distributor’s more talked-about upcoming releases, with early attention focused on both its premise and its tone.
With that being said, here’s everything you need to know heading into the film.
What Leviticus is About
At the center of Leviticus are two teenage boys, Naim and Ryan, whose connection turns dangerous in a community shaped by fear and control. Their relationship soon becomes entangled with a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most: each other. That tension gives the film a distinctly charged emotional core, pushing it beyond straightforward supernatural horror and into something more intimate and unnerving.
What People Are Saying
Leviticus has drawn a strong response so far. After premiering at Sundance in January and continuing its run through SXSW, the film has maintained steady word of mouth, with much of the early attention centering on its emotionally layered central relationship and its mix of vulnerability, religious trauma, and atmospheric horror. That response has carried over critically as well, with a strong Rotten Tomatoes score adding to the sense that NEON may have another breakout genre title on its hands.
Official Cast and Release Date
Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen lead the film as Naim and Ryan (the pairing at the heart of the story), with Mia Wasikowska, Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie, and Davida McKenzie also featured in the ensemble cast.
Leviticus is set to open in U.S. theaters on June 19, 2026. For a closer look at what NEON is bringing to screens next, check out the official trailer below.
