Overwatch 2 Reveals the New Tank Hero: Hazard

Blizzard Entertainment has returned to its devoted gaming community with the announcement of a new hero for Overwatch 2. The latest addition, known as Hazard, was just revealed in a thrilling trailer titled "Hazardous Tactics," — revealing that this new tank hero is set to join the game's roster very soon.

Trailer Details and Hazard's Potential Abilities

The actual game trailer showcases Hazard, a member of the revolutionary group known as the Phreaks (a cyberpunk-esque faction teased back in the first game’s 2014 trailer), executing a daring heist on the Oasis map. And during this heist, Hazard and his allies extract a mysterious purple fluid before being ambushed and having to fight their way out. This fluid seems to grant Hazard supernatural strength, as he sprouts purple spikes and wields a powerful scythe-like weapon.

From what’s shown in the trailer, we’re assuming that Hazard's primary weapon is a large claw that can also function as a gun, hinting at his potential to deal significant damage. The aforementioned purple fluid he injects into his body (yes, that pre-existing purple goo from the Oasis map) appears to be tied to his ultimate ability, although Blizzard has yet to confirm the full extent of his abilities.

Trial Period and Wide Release

Players will have the opportunity to try out Hazard during the trial period from November 22-25, ahead of his official debut in Season 14 on December 10. This limited-time event allows the community to get hands-on experience with the new hero and provide feedback to Blizzard — but more importantly, capitalizes on the desire for event-style gaming.

If you’re eager to check out Hazard, check out the trailer below and log into Overwatch 2 this weekend for a hands-on experience.
