Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Reveals Explosive New Teaser, Unleashing Fresh Chaos in Night City

Studio Trigger and CD Projekt RED have unveiled another high-octane look at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 with its latest official teaser trailer, released June 29, 2026. The follow-up to the 2022 anime hit is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix this fall, returning viewers to the neon-lit dangers of Night City through an entirely new story and cast of characters.

The first season earned its devoted audience through its collision of kinetic action, tragedy, and vividly realized cyberpunk world-building. Edgerunners 2 enters that same unforgiving world from a different angle, following a fresh crew of mercenaries for whom one wrong decision can prove fatal. Kai Ikarashi directs the 10-episode season, with character designs led by Kanno Ichigo and Hugo Award winner Bartosz Sztybor serving as showrunner.

New Faces in Night City

The teaser introduces its new ensemble through a barrage of explosions, chase sequences, and close-quarters combat. At the center is Weak “King” Kingsley, a seasoned edgerunner pushed toward cyberpsychosis whose heavy modifications and imposing presence make him one of the trailer’s most striking figures.

He is joined by D, a vengeful netrunner from the Snake Nation searching for justice after the loss of his clan; Roman Carax, a young cinephile determined to document Night City’s chaos through his retro camcorder; and Talia Yang, a former corpo operative whose agility and custom cyberware make her a formidable presence in the field. Together, they offer a different entry point into a city shaped by corporate power, gang conflict, and the complications of survival.

The footage is set to “You Can’t Run From Me,” an original track from Rico Nasty, alongside a score by Trigun composer Tsuneo Imahori. The combination gives the teaser an especially volatile energy, matching the franchise’s brutal visual language with a sharper, more immediate pulse.

Roman’s camera also gives the preview a distinct visual hook, framing portions of the mayhem through his own lens. Beyond adding a playful stylistic layer, that perspective suggests a story interested in who gets to document violence, control a narrative, and come out alive when everything around them is built to collapse.

While the new season moves on from David Martinez’s story (bring him back please, it's not too late), it retains the pressure and emotional stakes that made the original so affecting. With Studio Trigger once again bringing its expressive animation to Night City, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 looks ready to offer longtime fans another intense ride while giving newcomers a clear place to enter the world.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arrives on Netflix this fall.
