Why Danielle Reyes Deserved to Win the Traitors Season 3
Danielle Reyes's time on The Traitors Season 3, though ultimately ending in elimination, was a blueprint in calculated chaos. While her gameplay was undoubtedly eccentric in more than one instance, it was precisely that unpredictability and that delicious treachery that made her an iconic player. Here’s why!
Embracing the Chaos
From the outset, Danielle showcased a playstyle that defied conventional Traitors strategy. Where others sought to maintain a veneer of composure, Danielle embraced the theatrical, the dramatic, and, at times, the downright bewildering. This approach, while ultimately leading to her downfall, proved to be her greatest asset in sowing discord. Danielle understood that in a game of deception, predictability is a death sentence. Her willingness to make bold swings, to deviate from expected behavior, kept her fellow contestants constantly off-balance.
She Took On Other Traitors and Repeatedly Won
Danielle didn't just play against the Faithful; she engaged in intricate power struggles within the Traitor ranks. Her ability to navigate these treacherous alliances and tense meetings to subtly influence banishments and to survive multiple Traitor purges was proof of her strategic prowess. Even if she was eventually eliminated, her ability to outlast and outmaneuver other traitors was impressive. Going up against such strong personalities (repeatedly) requires some courage and high-risk choices, which she never feared. And that Carolyn takedown? Epic.
Developing a Solid Core to Maintain Numbers
Despite her seemingly chaotic persona in the game, Danielle cultivated a core group of allies. She understood the importance of social capital in The Traitors and forged relationships that provided her with crucial support during banishment ceremonies. This social strategy, though ultimately insufficient to secure her victory, demonstrated her understanding of the game's dynamics. But honestly, in her defense, if Britney had stuck with Danielle and tried to actually work together (her recurring Big Brother flaw is turning against a woman on her side) they could have possibly won in the end. Sigh.
Still, despite her last-minute loss, Danielle has given us one of the most unforgettable performances from The Traitors so far. Bring her back for All-Stars, please!
