Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Teaser Roars Back to Skull Island With New Titans
Apple TV is steering the Monsterverse back into stormy waters, dropping the first teaser for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 and locking in a global premiere date of February 27, 2026. The new season will run for a total of 10 episodes, rolling out weekly on Fridays through May 1, keeping Monarch in play for most of spring.

The teaser is short but busy. It confirms what fans were hoping for: a return trip to Kong’s Skull Island, complete with towering jungle vistas, a mysterious seaside village, and a fresh Titan rising from the ocean that looks ready to chew through ships like toys. Kong himself is firmly front and center this time, roaring through several shots and framing the season as a more creature-forward chapter after the slow-burning mystery of season 1.
On the human side, the footage confirms the return of Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell as different-era versions of Lee Shaw, alongside Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm. The big twist baked into the marketing is that older Shaw appears to have survived his apparent death in the season 1 finale, setting up fresh questions about how he made it back from Axis Mundi and how deeply he’s now entangled with Monarch’s enemies.
The official synopsis points to buried secrets pulling the heroes together again on Skull Island and tying them to that new sea-based Titan, with Monarch once again caught between scientific curiosity and global catastrophe. Of course, Godzilla’s role is being kept deliberately vague in the early footage, but the heavy focus on Kong suggests this chapter belongs to the king of Skull Island and the creatures that challenge his territory.
