Black Mirror Season 7 Trailer Teases a Return to U.S.S. Callister and Bandersnatch

The chillingly expansive world of Black Mirror is soon set to return—and Netflix has released the official trailer for Season 7, sparking fervent speculation among fans after learning that we’ll finally be revisiting a story from the episodic anthology series.

Black Mirror (Season 7) | Netflix

The trailer's most significant revelation is the clear indication of a return to the digital universe of "USS Callister," the Emmy-winning, Star Trek-esque episode from Season 4. This sequel is likely going to delve deeper into the ramifications of Daly's digital tyranny and the potential for residual effects within the game's code, or perhaps even the real world. The crew still has at least one more story to tell.

Of course, the trailer also shows that the season has several other perspectives to explore, as there are many other new and terrifying stories to come in its six-episode run. However, in a surprise turn of events, Will Poulter makes an appearance, and it looks like Netflix's interactive film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch will be continued in some capacity too!

The confirmed cast of Black Mirror’s latest season includes names like Awkwafina, Issa Rae, Paul Giamatti, Billy Magnussen, Tracee Ellis Ros, Milanka Brooks, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, and Lewis Gribben. While specific character/storyline details remain largely shrouded in mystery, the trailer's visuals and tone suggest a continuation of the series' commitment to diverse character work and thought-provoking storytelling.

Charlie Brooker, the creator and writer of Black Mirror, also returns to helm the new season, promising to deliver the same blend of sharp social commentary and unnerving narratives that have made the series a cultural phenomenon during its early seasons.

Black Mirror Season 7 is slated to premiere on April 10, 2025, via Netflix.
