Yuki Chiba Returns with His Latest Single "Kibo"
Japanese hip-hop artist Yuki Chiba has released the official music video for "Kibo" (規模, meaning "Scale" or "Magnitude"), a standout track from his second album under his birth name—titled Okumanchoja (億万長者, meaning "Billionaire").
Launched on March 26, 2025, alongside the album’s full release, "Kibo" highlights Chiba’s signature laid-back style and lyrical depth, reinforcing his position as a pivotal figure in Japanese hip-hop.
The "Kibo" music video, now available on YouTube, complements the track’s dynamic energy with a bold, minimalist visual approach. Mixed and mastered by acclaimed engineer Jaycen Joshua, the song features Chiba’s introspective yet confident delivery over a compelling beat. As with all tracks on Okumanchoja, the lyrics were written entirely by Chiba, reflecting his hands-on creative process.
Okumanchoja, distributed across digital platforms worldwide, marks Chiba’s second full-length project since retiring his former stage name, KOHH, in 2021 and returning to music in 2024 under his real name. Following the viral success of his comeback single "Team Tomodachi" and his collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on "Mamushi," Chiba continues to connect Japanese hip-hop with a global audience. "Kibo" exemplifies this fusion, blending relatable narratives with a universally appealing sound.
Chiba’s return has been marked by significant milestones, including his first solo concert under the Yuki Chiba name, Yuki Chiba — STAR LIVE, scheduled for July 3, 2025, at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan. Until then, "Kibo" and Okumanchoja signal a bold step forward for Chiba, blending the raw energy of his roots with a mature perspective shaped by his three-year hiatus.
The album is now available on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited, with the "Kibo" music video below.
