Yung Miami Announces Debut Solo Album ‘Watch Dis’ for October

Yung Miami is ready to turn one of the biggest moments of her solo career into something more permanent. The rapper has announced her debut solo album, Watch Dis, arriving October 23, while giving listeners two new previews of the project with “F You” and “2008.”

The album follows a summer that undeniably shifted the trajectory of her solo run. “Spend Dat” climbed to No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her biggest chart success outside City Girls and giving Miami considerably more momentum heading into her first full-length release. The song also became a major presence across radio, streaming, and social platforms, giving her solo era a clear breakthrough before the album had even been formally announced.

Yung Miami Expands the World Around Watch Dis

Produced by London On Da Track, “F You” leans into Miami’s more confrontational side and samples Yo Gotti and Meek Mill’s “F-U.” “2008,” meanwhile, brings her back together with J White, who also produced “Spend Dat.” Its title looks toward an earlier era of Southern rap, with Miami specifically drawing on Jeezy and the kind of dominant run associated with his music during that period.

The two tracks also arrive with different energy, giving Watch Dis room to feel broader than a continuation of one successful single. “2008” received an accompanying music video, while “F You” puts Miami’s personality and sharper delivery closer to the center.

The album’s title also comes from a more personal place. Miami has described Watch Dis as an answer to the skepticism surrounding what she would do next, turning the phrase into something closer to a challenge she set for herself. “I’m confident in what I made,” she said in a press release while announcing the project. “I’m back to pop my shit, and I want everybody to WATCH DIS.”

After “Spend Dat,” there is considerably less uncertainty surrounding whether people are paying attention. The bigger question Watch Dis now has to answer is what Miami does with that attention across an entire album.

Watch Dis arrives October 23.
