Strung Trailer Teases a New Blumhouse Thriller With Chlöe Bailey

Blumhouse is adding another psychological thriller to its 2026 lineup with Strung, and the newly released trailer gives the film a clear hook: music, wealth, ambition, and a job that seems too good to trust. The Peacock original stars Chlöe Bailey as Laila, a talented violinist who takes a prestigious role as a music tutor for the gifted daughter of an influential family. At first, the opportunity looks like a career-making step. Before long, the trailer starts turning that polished world into something much more dangerous.

A Dream Job Starts to Unravel

The trailer works because it builds from something familiar. Laila enters a wealthy household, tries to understand its rules, and slowly realizes the family around her may be hiding more than eccentric behavior. The footage introduces a strange young girl, a full-time live-in teaching arrangement, and a creepy white mask that gives the movie an immediate visual signature. And rather than strictly pushing everything into outright horror right away, Strung seems to be playing with discomfort and thriller-esque tones first, letting the unease grow through expression, music lessons, and the feeling that Laila has stepped into a situation she cannot fully comprehend.

The cast adds even more intrigue. Strung also stars Lynn Whitfield, Lucien Laviscount, Anna Diop, Coco Jones, and Romy Woods, with Malcolm D. Lee directing from a screenplay by Alan McElroy. The film is produced by Peachtree & Vine and Blumhouse, in association with Blackmaled Productions, with Tyler Perry, Jason Blum, Tim Palen, Lee, and Dominique Telson among the producers.

Strung is slated to premiere at the American Black Film Festival before streaming on Peacock on June 26. And while we wait for its release, make sure to check out the official trailer for Strung, included below.
