New Masters of the Universe Featurette Takes Fans Behind the Battle for Eternia

Amazon MGM Studios has released a new behind-the-scenes look at Masters of the Universe, offering a closer look at the heroes, villains and larger-than-life world of Eternia ahead of the film’s theatrical debut. The live-action adaptation stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man and is directed by Travis Knight, best known for Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings.

The featurette highlights the film’s colorful sci-fi fantasy scale, with footage of Prince Adam, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Battle Cat and several familiar faces from the Mattel franchise. Rather than only teasing action, the new look positions the movie as a full return to Eternia, with Knight and the cast discussing the pressure of bringing the beloved toy line and animated legacy to the big screen for a new generation.

Inside the World of Eternia

Masters of the Universe follows Prince Adam after he is separated from Eternia for 15 years. When the Sword of Power leads him back home, he finds the planet under the rule of Skeletor and must join forces with Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms to protect his family, his world and his destiny as He-Man.

The cast includes Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto.

The new footage also quickly spotlights several fan-favorite characters, including Ram-Man, Mekaneck, Fisto, Cringer/Battle Cat, Trap Jaw, Spikor and Beast Man, suggesting the film is aiming for a broader celebration of the franchise rather than a stripped-down reinvention.

Masters of the Universe opens in theaters on June 5, 2026.
