Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Teaser Offers a Change of Scenery
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions unveiled the first teaser for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, with the 45-second clip hitting the internet hours later, electrifying fans of the 2023 horror hit that grossed $297 million worldwide.
Having just dropped, the highly anticipated sequel teaser pivots from the pizzeria setting of the first film, thrusting the animatronic terror into suburban homes—a stark departure from the franchise’s traditional haunt. Very much like the later games of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise.
The teaser brings back Josh Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa Shelly, and Piper Rubio as Abby Schmidt, who appear to confront the gruesome animatronics together from the jump— suggesting a united stand against the chaos now spilling beyond Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Matthew Lillard also returns as franchise serial killer William Afton, his sinister presence teased vocally despite an apparent demise at the end of the first film (though the post-credit sequence confirmed this was coming), while newcomers McKenna Grace and Teo Briones join the sequel in roles that have yet to be revealed.
So, between a strong cast, solid source material, and an intriguing teaser, we’ll definitely be seated for the theatrical release of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 on December 5, 2025.
