Marvel Rivals Season 8 Reveals Devil Dinosaur, Cyclops And A New Alchemax Update

Marvel Rivals is heading into its next major chapter with Season 8: Sins of Alchemax, which officially kicks off on May 15, 2026 UTC. The new season shifts the game’s ongoing story toward Alchemax Headquarters, setting up another futuristic conflict while adding new playable heroes, balance changes, and quality-of-life updates for players. Here’s what you need to know before it goes live.

Devil Dinosaur Stomps Into The Roster

The biggest addition arriving with Season 8 is Devil Dinosaur, who joins the game as a new Vanguard. The official balance update frames his arrival as a major frontline shake-up, with the “King of the Monster Kingdom” entering the battlefield as the rest of the roster receives a new round of tuning. His debut also brings a new Team-Up Ability with The Punisher, titled Primal Punishment, which gives Devil Dinosaur bonus health as the anchor while unlocking Ancient Judgement for Frank Castle.

Cyclops is also part of the Season 8 reveal, giving Marvel Rivals another major X-Men addition following the game’s continued expansion across different corners of the Marvel universe. While Devil Dinosaur appears to be the launch hero for the new season, Cyclops is being positioned as another key piece of the Sins of Alchemax rollout.

Beyond the roster additions, Season 8 will bring players to Alchemax Headquarters. The official Dev Vision tease tells players to “storm the lab” and “save the future,” pointing to the new location as the center of the season’s conflict. A new Doom Match map, Alchemax Headquarters, is also expected as part of the update cycle, giving the season a fresh setting to match its larger story direction.

The update is not only focused on new content. Season 8 also includes a broad balance pass, with adjustments for heroes including Deadpool, Emma Frost, The Thing, Iron Fist, Mister Fantastic, Phoenix, Spider-Man, Mantis, Rocket Raccoon, Loki, and White Fox. The changes suggest NetEase is looking to refresh the meta alongside the arrival of Devil Dinosaur, rather than simply dropping a new character into the existing state of play.

The new season will also introduce College Student Perks and a major PC storage optimization, giving the update a practical side beyond its hero reveals and map additions. For a live-service game built on constant momentum, Sins of Alchemax looks like a sizable next step for Marvel Rivals, combining spectacle, roster growth, and system-level improvements in one seasonal package.
