Peacock's The Copenhagen Test Drops Debut Teaser and Stills During NYCC
Peacock just surprised the NYCC crowd with the first teaser and images for The Copenhagen Test, and locked its premiere for December 27, 2025. The series stars and is executive produced by Simu Liu and comes from creator/co-showrunner Thomas Brandon, with Jennifer Yale serving as co-showrunner.
In the teaser, Liu’s Alexander Hale (a first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst) learns his brain has been hacked, giving unknown adversaries access to everything he sees and hears. The hook is immediate: Hale is forced into a 24/7 performance, navigating a shadowy agency on one side and the intruders on the other while he figures out who’s pulling the strings and where his loyalties will land.

The cast pairs Liu with Melissa Barrera, Sinclair Daniel, Brian D’Arcy James, Mark O’Brien, and Kathleen Chalfant. Behind the camera, James Wan boards as executive producer alongside Michael Clear and Rob Hackett for Atomic Monster, with Mark Winemaker and Jet Wilkinson also executive producing; Wilkinson directs the opening two episodes. The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Brandon and Yale’s credits (from Legacies to See and Outlander) suggest a character-driven genre build, while Wan’s presence points to propulsive set-pieces and clean genre mechanics. On paper—and in the teaser—The Copenhagen Test teases itself as a winter binge with a high-concept engine and a star who can sell both charm and panic.
