NBC's Stumble Drops Trailer and Key Art

NBC is giving mockumentary fans a new reason to cheer. The network just unveiled the first trailer and key art for Stumble, a single-camera comedy set in the “ridiculously high-stakes” world of junior-college cheerleading.

Created by Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof and directed by Jeff Blitz, Stumble stars Jenn Lyon as Courteney Potter, a once-dominant cheer coach who’s forced to rebuild after a viral misstep costs her job. In the trailer, Potter vows to “make sure nobody dies” as she cobbles together an underdog squad at the little-known Headltston State Junior College, aiming for a nationals comeback.

The ensemble includes Taran Killam as Potter’s supportive (and occasionally shell-shocked) husband, with Kristin Chenoweth recurring as a rival coach whose melodramatic flair keeps the competition spicy. Rounding out the squad and support bench are Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar, and Georgie Murphy, a mix of former cheer standouts and lovable misfits that the trailer gleefully labels “tumblers and stumblers.”

While the series plays up its premise for laughs, Stumble also taps real-world cheer cred behind the scenes. Monica Aldama—the famed Navarro College coach featured in Netflix’s Cheer—serves as an executive producer, a nod to the sport’s exacting standards and soaring injury stakes that the show satirizes without losing sight of its athletic intensity. Basically, it’s got a little something for everyone!

Stumble premieres Friday, Nov. 7 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC, streaming next day on Peacock.
