Perfume Shares a New “Fumetsu no Anata” Concept Movie Ahead of Their “Cold Sleep” Era
Perfume just released a new concept movie for “Fumetsu no Anata” (ふめつのあなた), effectively giving fans a fresh visual chapter tied to the last wave of music the trio put out before entering what they’ve called “cold sleep,” (their hiatus) starting in 2026.
The track itself first arrived at the end of 2025 as a digital single, written and produced by longtime collaborator Yasutaka Nakata (CAPSULE), and it serves as the theme song for To Your Eternity (Fumetsu no Anata e) Season 3. Though, now, with the group officially in their pause, the newly released concept movie lands like a deliberate “one more message” moment rather than a routine drop.
Maintaining their reputation for sci-fi-tinted, high-tech visuals, the video leans into an ethereal aesthetic that highlights the members’ capacity for synchronicity. The framing is intentionally bittersweet, too: capturing the trio as a single unit even as they appear to gradually face different directions, with outlines loosening and memories drifting like particles while the song keeps circling.
Even in “cold sleep,” there are still scheduled touchpoints on the horizon. A documentary film, Perfume “Cold Sleep” - 25 years Document, is set for screening in May 2026, with additional live video releases planned for early summer.
The “Fumetsu no Anata” concept movie is included below.
