Ice Nine Kills Unleash “Twisting the Knife” With Scream 7 Star McKenna Grace
Just in time to crank up the fear ahead of Scream 7’s theatrical release, horror-metal heavyweights Ice Nine Kills have dropped a brutal new single, “Twisting the Knife,” featuring the film’s rising star Mckenna Grace. The track arrived alongside an official music video billed as Part 1, pairing cinematic slasher energy with punishing riffs and a surprisingly ferocious vocal turn from Grace. And almost immediately, the pairing feels like a natural collision of two horror lanes.
The original song is tied directly to Scream 7, with frontman Spencer Charnas leading the charge and Grace stepping in as both vocalist and co-writer. Directed by Jensen Noen, the video is a glossy, blood-soaked nod to the Scream legacy: packed with an assortment of classic meta elements and framed by Ghostface-masked figures. The cameos also help seal the connection, including David Arquette and Roger L. Jackson’s unmistakable Ghostface voice.
At 19, Grace keeps proving how comfortably she can pivot between lanes without losing momentum. She’s already stacked genre credibility through projects like Ghostbusters: Afterlife and The Handmaid’s Tale, has more on the way with her upcoming role as Daphne in the next Scooby-Doo, and she’s continued developing her own music under Photo Finish Records. Folding a metalcore feature into that mix feels like the latest extension of a career that rarely plays it safe.
The timing also makes the song an ideal hype engine for Scream 7, directed by franchise creator Kevin Williamson and bringing back Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott. This time, a new Ghostface threatens Sidney’s quiet new life, with the killer targeting her daughter (Isabel May). Grace joins an ensemble that includes returning names like Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding, alongside newcomers like Anna Camp, Joel McHale, and Matthew Lillard.
Scream 7 hits theaters, including Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, premium large formats, and IMAX on February 27, 2026. “Twisting the Knife” is available now on all major platforms, with the music video (Part 1) out today.
