"Where Do We Go" Kicks Off i-dle's First Japanese EP
i-dle has kicked off their Japanese era with “どうしよっかな (Where Do We Go),” releasing the single alongside a narrative music video to mark the arrival of their JAPAN 1st EP, i-dle, out now. The track is billed as the EP’s lead and a new Japanese original from leader-producer Soyeon, setting the tone for a rollout that feels purpose-built for the market while staying true to the group’s pop instincts.
The video plants the members in small-town Japan (separate lives, shared gravity) before a reunion nudges them back toward a dream they’d shelved. Shot entirely on location, it favors lived-in textures over gloss that entails fishing docks, local streets, and the soft hum of light.
As a package, i-dle balances new material with strategic translations. Alongside “Where Do We Go,” the EP includes “Invincible” (already familiar to anime fans as the Beyblade X opening) and a full-Japanese ballad, plus Japanese versions of the hits “Fate” and “Queencard.” It’s a snapshot of the group’s past (and where they’re pointing next) without blurring the project’s Japanese identity.
The timing is also built for momentum. October brings arena dates in Saitama and Kobe under the banner 2025 i-dle first japan tour [逢い-dle], putting the new material on big stages almost immediately after release. For fans, that means the video’s themes—distance, reunion, recommitment—should translate into the live set with little lost in transit.
