The Final Destination: Bloodlines Trailer Expands on Death's Design
After a 14-year hiatus, the Final Destination franchise is back with a vengeance, as Warner Bros. Pictures released the official trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines this week. Set to hit theaters and IMAX on May 16, 2025, this sixth installment looks to deliver the gruesome, slowly-churned deaths that fans have come to love, while introducing a fresh twist to the series’ signature premise of cheating Death itself.
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines centers on Stefanie, a college student played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana, who is tormented by violent recurring nightmares. Unlike previous protagonists who escape disaster firsthand, Stefanie’s visions connect her to a legacy of survival: her grandmother, who decades ago thwarted Death by saving lives during a catastrophic event in the 1960s. Now, Death is catching up, targeting the descendants of those spared—including Stefanie’s family—in a sadistic game of fate.
The cast includes rising stars like Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, and Richard Harmon, alongside the return of the late horror legend Tony Todd (in his final role) as the enigmatic William Bludworth, a fan-favorite character whose backstory will reportedly deepen in this film. With a runtime of 109 minutes and 40 seconds—the longest in the series—Final Destination: Bloodlines is already putting in the work to honor its roots while exploring Death’s origins.
Rated R for “strong violent/grisly accidents and language,” the trailer has sparked excitement among horror enthusiasts, promising a return to form for the franchise that has grossed nearly $700 million worldwide. As May approaches, Final Destination: Bloodlines is poised to remind audiences: Death always collects.
