Return to Silent Hill Teases Pyramid Head's Return in 2026
Christophe Gans is officially taking us back to the fog. The first teaser for Return to Silent Hill—his follow-up to the 2006 cult favorite—arrived today, previewing a James Sunderland story steeped in grief, monsters, and a town that wants to keep you forever. The teaser shows Jeremy Irvine’s James stepping into Silent Hill’s warped reality, capped by a menacing reveal of Pyramid Head.
Adapted from Silent Hill 2, Gans returns as director and co-writer, with series legend Akira Yamaoka composing—a key connective tissue for longtime fans.
The film includes Jeremy Irvine as James Sunderland and Hannah Emily Anderson in multiple roles—Mary Crane, Angela, Maria, and “Moth Mary.” (In game canon, Mary/Maria are twin pillars of James’s psyche; Angela is a separate character.)
The teaser shows us that James’s letter draws him back to Silent Hill (“You live here now” flashes on screen), along with looks at classic creatures—including Nurses and Pyramid Head—that anchor the classic Silent Hill tone.
Cineverse will release the film in the U.S. on January 23, 2026, partnering with Iconic Events Releasing.
