Paramount Pictures Rolls Out New Roofman Trailer Ahead of Its Theatrical launch

Paramount Pictures just dropped the official trailer for Roofman, Derek Cianfrance’s stranger-than-fiction caper-romance based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester—the Army veteran who robbed dozens of McDonald’s by cutting in through the roof, then hid out inside a Toys “R” Us while a statewide manhunt closed in. And upon launching the trailer, the film’s footage tees up a genre-blending movie that blends heist mechanics with a tender, off-kilter love story and Cianfrance’s trademark lived-in realism.

Channing Tatum leads the story as Manchester, charting his escape and reinvention. Opposite Tatum, Kirsten Dunst plays Leigh, a single mom and employee who crosses paths with the fugitive and complicates his plans. The ensemble also includes several high-profile names like Peter Dinklage, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Uzo Aduba, Melonie Diaz, and Jimmy O. Yang.

The trailer leans into late-’90s mall Americana underscored by playful, heartbeat percussion. We glimpse bike laps through a shuttered toy store, improvised bunkers in employee-only corridors, and the wary chemistry between Tatum and Dunst. It’s also mischievous yet melancholy, teasing a cat-and-mouse story that morphs into an unexpected domestic fantasy about second chances and the cost of remaking yourself.

Roofman is slated to premiere in U.S. theaters on October 10, 2025, via Paramount Pictures and Miramax, following a TIFF bow in early September. A UK rollout later in October is also flagged in studio marketing.
