Night Patrol Sinks Its Teeth Into Vampire Cops and Shudder-Bound Chaos

Shudder has sunk its teeth into a new kind of cop movie as the streamer unveils the official trailer for Night Patrol, a pulpy vampire thriller from director Ryan Prows that turns LAPD corruption into full-blown bloodsucker horror.

Night Patrol (2026) | RLJE and Shudder

Set in the housing projects where he grew up, the story follows LAPD officer Hawkins (Jermaine Fowler), who’s forced to work alongside local gangs after discovering that a specialized task force is hiding a horrific secret that puts the entire neighborhood at risk. That secret, as the trailer makes loud and clear, is vampirism. And the unit known as the Night Patrol doesn’t just police the streets at night—they feed on them.

The spot leans hard into grindhouse energy through sirens, flashbangs, and crimson-soaked corridors, with Justin Long as Hawkins’ legacy partner and CM Punk (credited as Phil Brooks) leading the fanged officers who run the city after dark. The ensemble is also stacked with a slew of genre-friendly names, including RJ Cyler, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Nicki Micheaux, Flying Lotus, and Dermot Mulroney, giving the film the feel of a midnighter packed with heavy hitters.

Night Patrol has already started its festival run, premiering at Fantastic Fest and screening at Beyond Fest earlier this fall, where early reactions praised its mix of political bite and sleazy, high-energy horror. The film is slated to hit theaters via RLJE Films on January 16, 2026, with a streaming window on Shudder to follow.
