Fall 2: Deadpoint Trailer Takes the Survival Thriller Franchise Even Higher

The Fall franchise is once again turning extreme height into nightmare fuel. Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint, the upcoming sequel to the 2022 survival thriller that turned a stranded climb into one of the most nerve-racking genre setups of recent years. This time, the danger moves away from the original film’s 2,000-foot TV tower and into a new high-altitude nightmare built around Thailand’s Mount Kwan.

A Deadlier Climb for the Fall Franchise

Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, Fall 2: Deadpoint introduces a new story centered on Jax, played by Harriet Slater, as she attempts a dangerous climb with Luce, played by Arsema Thomas. The journey begins as an attempt to honor Hunter, Jax’s late sister, but quickly turns into a fight for survival when a rockslide leaves the pair stranded thousands of feet above the ground.

The sequel also expands the franchise with a fresh cast that includes Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas, who lead the new installment, with Tom Brittney also starring. Behind the camera, the film brings in the Spierig Brothers, whose past genre work includes Daybreakers, Predestination, Jigsaw, and Winchester. Original Fall screenwriters Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank returned to pen the sequel, giving Deadpoint a direct creative link to the stripped-down survival premise that made the first film so effective.

For those of you who might need a refresher, the original Fall followed two best friends, Becky and Hunter, after they became trapped at the top of an abandoned tower when a corroded ladder broke beneath them. Deadpoint appears to keep that same simple, brutal appeal intact: take a small group of characters, put them somewhere nearly impossible to escape, and let panic, exhaustion, and the elements close in.

Fall 2: Deadpoint is set to release in theaters on September 2, 2026.
