Alien: Romulus Unveils a Promising New Trailer

After months of speculation about what the highly anticipated film will look like, the upcoming sci-fi title Alien: Romulus from 20th Century Studios has dropped a tense new trailer. And while the studio is still being cautious about what (and how much) they reveal, we do at least know that the story will be set between the original Alien and it’s undeniably popular sequel Aliens, showcasing a fresh crop of young individuals confronting a terrifying alien life form on a distant planet. Classic Alien franchise stuff, right?

Additionally, the trailer, reminiscent of the franchise's influential horror origins, teases suspenseful moments in sci-fi aesthetics with plenty of with facehuggers and Xenomorphs. Though, while providing glimpses of alien encounters, the trailer still maintains an exciting air of mystery, building anticipation for the film's late summer release.

Set for a theatrical release on August 16, the film is directed by Fede Àlvarez and features Cailee Spaeny in a lead role. Along with Spaeny, the cast also includes Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, David Jonsson, Aileen Wu, and Spike Fearn.
