Now, Jimmy Sax is back to impress with his latest single “A Million Miles,” featuring the renowned Steve Edwards, known for his work with artists like Axwell and Bob Sinclar. And in this instance, the chemistry between Jimmy and Edwards shines through the powerful new track, reflecting the sheer joy and creativity they experienced while working together.

In addition to being an impressive collaboration between the two legends, this future summer hit showcases Jimmy's unique jazz style, fusing soulful sax melodies with Edwards' velvety vocals to create a layered, uplifting sound. So naturally, we needed to chat with the groundbreaking multi-instrumentalist about the new single and his remarkable industry journey.

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your new single, "A Million Miles," and how the collaboration with Steve Edwards came about?

Jimmy Sax: “A Million Miles” can mean many different things. For me, since I started my career — I am a million miles away from the person I was at the beginning of a new journey as well. Now I’m a dad, I’m married, I’m touring the world, etc. It’s been a journey and it looks like there’s still a long way to go though.

Your unique blend of saxophone improvisation and deep house music has garnered immense popularity. How do you maintain the balance between these two genres in your music?

Jimmy Sax: A balance is always hard to find. I keep finding inspiration by taking time with my family and also collaborating with different artists and producers to constantly refresh my mind. Music is always a perfect place where anyone can find themselves and express themselves.

"A Million Miles" has been appropriately described as a solid summer hit. What was the creative process like when producing this pop-like track, and what kind of atmosphere did you intend to create?

Jimmy Sax: That’s a feel-good track perfect for the summer. I love pop music so doing this with Steve was a pure pleasure. You can really appreciate a beautiful song — my sax touch and vibe are all incredibly mixed by The Avener production!

As a multi-instrumentalist, how do you decide which instrument to feature prominently in each track? Is it something that comes together throughout the process — or do you know early on what’s needed?

Jimmy Sax: It’s hard to say, depending on the tracks, and the mood, there are no rules I’d say. I don’t put sax just to add something you see. If it’s not fitting, I don’t put it in [a song] and hold off. But of course, I try always to take the direction to be able to fit in the tune and make the best out of that.

Does there happen to be a particularly memorable moment you experienced while working with producers like The Avener and Martin Gregory Smith on this latest single?

Jimmy Sax: 5: I’ve known Tristan [The Avener] for a while. So it’s always a pleasure to work with him he is a super-talented artist. He is precise in his choice and direction. The song is out there and speaks. That’s [made the process] really comfortable.

You’ve mentioned that "A Million Miles" speaks volumes about your personal journey. How important is it for you to infuse your own experiences and emotions into your music?

Jimmy Sax: This is, for me, the only direction to play music! Without this it means nothing otherwise, you are just doing your job which should never be the case when you are doing art.

Collaborating with artists like Steve Edwards and producers with different musical backgrounds, how do you typically find common ground creatively while still staying true to your signature sound?

Jimmy Sax: I’m searching exactly to go out of my comfort zones! My touch will come naturally… This is who I am. I am not a great technician, but when I play you recognize it is me, with my own sound and a true identity.

Looking ahead, what can your fans expect from Jimmy Sax in terms of future projects or musical directions?

Jimmy Sax: Oh yes…. My second album is arriving really soon, and I am so excited about it!
