Etham, a promising force in the indie-pop scene, has a knack for crafting songs that touch the soul. Known for his emotional honesty and intricate compositions, Etham's journey into music began early, winning a local talent show at 18 and swiftly catching the attention of industry professionals. Despite initial success with a major label, he eventually chose to forge his own path, resulting in a repertoire that reverberates with authenticity.

His breakout track "12:45" from the 2019 EP Stripped amassed over 85 million Spotify streams, solidifying his place in the music world. Since then, with nearly 100 million streams and collaborations with notable artists and producers, Etham continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

His latest single, "Still Can’t Move On," is a poignant exploration of love and loss, showcasing his ability to convey raw emotion through melody. Co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Scott Effman, this track offers a glimpse into his forthcoming EP, Everything and Nothing—which promises to be a heartfelt exploration of relationships, while featuring a blend of familiar sounds and revamped styles.

Your latest single, “Still Can’t Move On” is a deeply personal reflection on love and loss. Can you share more about the idea/intention behind this track?

Etham: It was an idea I came up with off the back of an emotion I was feeling shortly after breaking up with someone and the first lines ‘Waking up, Catching my breath before it settles in’ was a real moment I went through and that’s what started the song after coming up with chords that just felt right.

What was the highlight of working alongside Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Scott Effman for “Still Can’t Move On”?

Etham: I love working with Scott and every time we work it’s just so chilled and effortless and that’s what I like most about writing with him because there’s no pressure.

What purpose does the track have in the grand scheme of your upcoming EP Everything and Nothing?

Etham: I think it’s just another way of expressing an in the moment feeling as the other songs sort of reflect on the whole breakup but “Still Can’t Move On” is more about a very specific in the moment time

Was there something specific that inspired or influenced your upcoming work on Everything and Nothing?

Etham: It was a breakup I went through and I honestly didn’t mean for every song to be about that situation but I tend to write things that are going on in my life and that was what had happened so naturally I just started to write about it.

Are there any new genres or styles you explored in this upcoming collection of songs?

Etham: I think I really committed to a singer/songwriter mixed with a little bit of country because I felt like that was the most honest way I could relay what I wanted to say.

Is there something specific about Everything and Nothing that you’re most excited for fans to experience when the EP drops?

Etham: I think the relatability of all the songs because everyone’s experienced heartbreak and I hope whoever listens to it can feel like they’re not alone in feeling a certain way.

Your music has generated nearly 100 million streams and has led to major appearances and performances throughout your career. Is there something that you’re most proud of achieving so far?

Etham: I’m just really happy that I get to continue a career in music because it is really difficult, but I can’t imagine doing anything else, so just to be able to call this my job is the biggest achievement for me.
