Yves Releases Official Music Video for the Infectious Hyperpop Collab “Break It” with Lexie Liu

Yves is extending the magnetic world of NAIL with the official music video for “Break it,” her sharp-edged hyperpop collaboration with fellow experimental pop titan Lexie Liu. Released June 17, the visual arrives two months after Yves’ fourth EP, bringing fresh attention to one of the project’s most electric pairings.

The song itself appears fourth on the five-track release, which arrived April 17 via PAIX PER MIL. Over its three-minute runtime, “Break It” brings together two artists with a shared instinct for pop that feels sleek, unpredictable, and just a little dangerous—where Lexie Liu contributes more than a guest verse, sharing lyric credits with Dopein and adding a perspective that gives the track its own distinctive charge.

Within the structure of NAIL, “Break It” follows R&B and pop offerings including “It,” “HALO,” and the Lolo Zouaï-assisted title track before the EP closes with “birth.” And while each song occupies its own space, this one feels particularly vital to the project’s larger shape—connecting Yves’ evolving solo voice with the wider group of artists helping define this era.

A Collaboration That Deserves the Spotlight

Directed by Jeremy Z Qin, the cinematic, textured music video gives the track room to exist beyond the EP rollout while playing up the pull between Yves and Lexie Liu’s contrasting presences. Produced and composed by IOAH, with arrangement contributions from Park YeChan, “Break it” has a futuristic foundation that makes its extraterrestrial-coded visual feel like a natural extension of the song rather than an afterthought.

For Yves, “Break it” is also a strong choice to revisit in a growing arsenal of dark horse hits. So, if it happened to slip under your radar upon release, the video only gives fans yet another reason to return to NAIL, reinforcing the EP’s momentum through a visual that feels as considered and off-kilter as the music itself.
