Bleachers Gives “the van” a New Cinematic Visual Ahead of ‘everyone for ten minutes’

Bleachers are keeping the rollout for everyone for ten minutes moving with a new video for “the van,” one of the tracks from the band’s upcoming fifth studio album, due May 22. The song itself arrived earlier this month, but the new visual gives it another layer just as the next Bleachers era starts coming into clearer focus.

Like much of Bleachers’ work, “the van” feels rooted in memory, but it does not lean on nostalgia in an obvious way. The track opens with breakbeats, an orchestral sample, and a repeating drum fill before later bringing in harmonica, giving it a slightly different shape than some of the band’s biggest, most immediate songs. Even so, it still fits within the broader sound surrounding this album, which has been described as moving between folk rock, pop soul, and the sax-assisted New Jersey style Bleachers have made part of their identity.

The video keeps things simple and personal. It begins with Jack Antonoff shaving his head in front of a mirror before the rest of the band arrives and starts playing inside the house, eventually drawing a crowd outside. Directed by Alex Lockett, the clip feels intimate with an artsy, cinematic edge (without being overly polished), which also suits the song’s rougher, more reflective energy.

“The van” is one of several songs already released from everyone for ten minutes, following earlier tracks including “you and forever” and “dirty wedding dress.” Now, with the album now just weeks away and touring set to follow, the latest visual gives Bleachers another strong piece of a rollout that feels focused on atmosphere, detail, and the particular emotional texture Jack Antonoff’s band has continued to refine over time.
