Dune: Part Three Trailer Teases the Cost of Paul Atreides’ Power
Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Dune: Part Three, offering an exciting first look at Denis Villeneuve’s final chapter in his popular Dune trilogy. Based on Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, the film follows Paul Atreides after his rise to power, with the new footage teasing a darker and more fractured continuation of the story that began in Dune and expanded through Dune: Part Two.
Paul Atreides Faces the Cost of Power
The trailer places Timothée Chalamet’s Paul in a far more haunted position than before, as the consequences of his rule begin to close in around him. After the events of Dune: Part Two, Paul is no longer simply the young heir fighting for survival on Arrakis. He has become a figure of power, prophecy, and destruction, with the film apparently leaning into the weight of everything done in his name.
As expected, Zendaya’s Chani also appears central to the emotional conflict of the film. The trailer uses some of its scarce time to highlight the growing divide between her and Paul, turning their relationship into one of the story’s most charged tensions. So, rather than turning Paul’s rise into a simple victory, Dune: Part Three is prepared to push deeper into the fallout of leadership, belief, and the danger of being treated as a messiah.
The Cast Returns With New Arrivals
Alongside Chalamet and Zendaya, the film brings back several major figures from Villeneuve’s previous installments, including Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jason Momoa, and Josh Brolin. Robert Pattinson also joins the cast as Scytale, adding a new threat to the story as Paul’s enemies begin moving against him.
With Dune: Part Three, Villeneuve is bringing his sci-fi epic toward its conclusion, shifting the focus from Paul’s rise to the consequences waiting on the other side.
Dune: Part Three is set to arrive in theaters and IMAX on December 18, 2026.
