Skeleton Crew Trailer Teases a Brand-New Star Wars Adventure

The highly anticipated trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew just debuted at D23, unveiling key aspects of the upcoming series. And after dropping the trailer online shortly after, viewers are officially treated to a first glimpse of the series’ new group of children who are set to be the show's primary focus.

(L-R): SM-33 (voiced by Nick Frost), Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter), and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) in Lucasfilm's Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

Promoted as a coming-of-age narrative, Skeleton Crew follows children from a planet strikingly similar to Earth (but still very futuristic), highlighting their dissatisfaction with a mundane, everyday life — causing them to pursue dangerous adventures in the vastness of the galaxy.

In addition to its fresh, youthful perspective, the trailer also makes it clear that Jude Law’s character, Jod Na Nawood, is confirmed to possess Force sensitivity, prompting the children to label him a Jedi. But at this point, we know Force-sensitive doesn’t always correlate with Jedi, and given its New Republic-era timeline where the Jedi are very scarce, (set alongside The Mandalorian) there’s a chance that things aren’t exactly as they seem.

Skeleton Crew stars Law, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Kerry Condon, with its two-episode premiere dropping on December 3, 2024, via Disney+.
