Kodak Black Surprise-Releases the Dynamic 26-Track Mixtape, ‘Kodak the Blessing’

Kodak Black marked his 29th birthday with the surprise release of Kodak the Blessing, a sprawling new mixtape that finds the South Florida rapper returning to the loose, instinctive energy that shaped his earliest work.

Released through Vulture Love and Capitol Records, the 26-track project features appearances from Rylo Rodriguez, Fridayy, Lil Crix, Albee Al, G Thugg, Shadea Charai, Reese Youngn, and 1900Rugrat. The mixtape moves between club-ready hooks, street-focused records, romantic reflections, and more inward-looking moments, presenting several sides of Kodak across its extensive tracklist.

Returning to His Classic, Raw Sound

Among the project’s early standouts is “Move,” a collaboration with G Thugg produced by Buddah Bless and Jabz. Built around an eerie, stripped-back beat, the track leaves plenty of open space for Kodak’s relaxed delivery and deliberately paced lines. Rather than crowding the production, he settles into its minimal rhythm and lets the record’s hypnotic quality build gradually. Other standout collaborations include Fridayy on “Better or Worse,” Albee Al on “Peter Roll,” and Reese Youngn on “Handling the Death.” The mixtape then closes with “American Dream,” which brings Kodak together with Rylo Rodriguez and Lil Crix.

“Nunchucks” Receives a Chaotic New Video

Kodak also released a music video for “Nunchucks,” his bass-heavy collaboration with 1900Rugrat. Directed by Kodak himself, the visual unfolds inside a crowded club filled with dancers, karate-clad fighters, twin bouncers, slime, and a selection of increasingly surreal imagery. Kodak and 1900Rugrat perform amid the disorder, with the latter appearing in corpse paint as distorted bass, bright keys, and restless drums drive the track. The video’s freewheeling atmosphere matches the mixtape’s spontaneous approach and its interest in capturing Kodak at his most unfiltered.

The project continues a prolific stretch for the rapper, who previously released the mixtapes Gift for the Streets, Dieuson Octave, and Trill Bill within a two-month period. He has also recently appeared on tracks by Joyner Lucas, Buddah Bless, Ty Dolla $ign, Marques Houston, and the JACKBOYS, so it’s clearly a busy chapter for a seasoned artist.

Kodak the Blessing is available now on major streaming platforms.
